Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Toad's Place, 09-26-08

Last February, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals came to New Haven. And so did a crazy hail storm. We sadly didn’t make it.

Friday, they came back and we finally got the chance to hit up New Haven to check them out. The band played an extremely well-balanced set of old and new, mixing in a few covers in between (Rolling Stones’ “Paint it Black” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Who Knows”). They played for approximately 2 hours, including 2 encores to round it off.

Setlist was as follows (thanks to Tedheadone from the GPN forums!):

Gettin in Tune
Mastermind
Treat Me Right
Stop The Bus
Here’s to the MEantime
Who Knows
Paris
Watchin You
Nothing but the water
Sweet Hands
Big white Gate
Sugar
Paint It Black
—-
Ah Mary

No expectations

All in all, my first GPN show was FANTASTIC and I can’t wait to see them again.

For pics, check out my Facebook photo album from the show (everyone can view, a Facebook account is not needed….and excuse the drunk pics of me and my friends).
