Turn It Up to 11: Badflower’s ‘Soap’

Bumming around on Spotify can certain lead to some golden nuggets of greatness – especially if you check out your Discover Weekly playlist from time to time. This track is one of those glorious tunes I found while Spotify-surfing and every time I play it, I want to turn it up to 11.

“Soap” is full of deliciously loud noise from Los Angeles, Calif. Badflower, its creator, is a band who clearly still believes in the powers of rock ‘n roll. Over the course of the three tracks released (titled: “Badflower: Album Preview,” so I guess that’s kind of an EP? Sure. Let’s go with that), the band serves up unwieldy, psychedelic guitar riffs that crescendo into booming rock rhythms over the course of a single song. Along with the band’s often violent snarls, this is clearly music for large rooms, big crowds and drunken Saturdays.

Check out the video for “Soap”. Here’s to hoping the full LP is just as powerful.
