"No Country" for anyone

I’d like to take this time to thank the Coen brothers for……well, nothing at all.

Frankly, I’d like the last 2 hours of my life back, having finally watched “No Country for Old Men” on DVD.

There was 0 characterization of Anton, Llewelyn, and Tom Bell. Rather, we’re simply thrown into the plot as Llewelyn finds money, and hotel hops. Fascinating. Baddie Anton wants his money and kills people.

Ok.

Maybe the end would pull through, right? I recalled a plethora of people saying they “hated” the ending…but I’m not most people. If the main character loses, or dies, or something else that would destroy the “good guy”, I’m usually all for it. I’m not your normal viewer. However, the ending of “No Country”, or lack thereof, was just so unfulfilling that I might as well have been watching nothing.

To write anymore regarding this topic would simply be wasting even MORE of my time. How the HELL did the Academy award this vile, piece of shit with so many awards?

Thanks, Ethan and Joel Coen. Thanks for nothing.

P.S. I followed this viewing with a bout of “Sweeney Todd”, further exemplifying my Sunday of bad decisions. UGH. If movies are going to suck, they should suck in less than 120 minutes.

P.P.S.  I don’t think this post really puts forth my anger towards this film.  To say I “hate” it would be an understatement.  I loathed “No Country”.
