My Very Own Super Mario Bros. Cornhole Set

Mario CornholeUsually when I see inventive art projects, games, t-shirts or trinkets online, I geek out over the coolness and secretly wish that I had the creativity and gusto to pull them off myself (Buffy pinball machine, anyone?) This Super Mario Bros.-themed cornhole set feels like something I’d see on Etsy or CafePress (or one of those other online stores that I’ll never have because I don’t have any skillz), but this one is mine all mine. #NotSoHumblebrag.

MarioThanks to some amazing friends, Dennis and Kimie completely surprised us with our very own cornhole set as a housewarming gift. Dennis handled the construction of the set and Kimie added the masterful paint job. The detail is really incredible and looks exactly like the 8-bit game! Here’s a closer look at Sir Mario. On top of this already epic gift, the cornhole set makes Mario sounds when you sink a bean bag in the hole! It is far too excellent to not fully demonstrate, so I made this here YouTube video:

Cornhole really goes hand in hand with some of my favorite activities: hanging out in the sun and drinking beer. The little to no activity required for cornhole really helps with the whole “being lazy and drinking” thing, drink stakestoo. Now all I need are a few of these beverage stakes, and I’m gonna be so fucking money.

Many thanks and high-fives again to Dennis and Kimie for their thoughtfulness, time and energy in creating this. (I like to call them by their celebrity name – DeMi – I think only Kimie likes it, though.)

It has been suggested that they produce more of these and sell them on the Internet, but it’s lookin’ like mine’s going to be an original, kids.

YA-HOO!
