Portlandia: Fred Moves to Austin with a Little Help from the Mayor

Season six of Portlandia has been a mixed bag, but hasn’t it always been that way? (No risk, no reward, I say!) Despite its hot-and-cold vibe, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein’s show is like the resident weirdo of TV, following IFC’s “Always On, Slightly Off” tagline to a T. Even when the show delivers a miss, I still want to rally around it and applaud it…because it is weird as all hell and I love it.

In one of the latest episodes, Fred (the character) decides to pack it in and move to Austin. Luckily, the Mayor of Austin (played by the incomparable Kyle MacLachlan) has a few tips for Fred on how to pick out a “cool” neighborhood…and it’s just as perfect and cuckoo-nutso as Portlandia should always be.

Keep Portlandia Weird.
