Lorde Pays Tribute to Tears for Fears on the ‘Catching Fire’ Soundtrack

Lorde_TearsForFearsIf you’ve only heard one Lorde song, you’re missing out.

The 17 year old Kiwi’s full-length debut albumĀ Pure Heroine dropped a couple months ago and it’s one of the year’s best. Sure, it’s significantly bolstered by its lead single, but the album holds its own. To further prove that she’s no one-hit-wonder, Lorde covered Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” for the soundtrack to Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Unsurprisingly, it’s extremely fitting: dark, ominous, dripping in anarchy. She nailed the tone of the film. It’s the perfect track to accompany the film’s themes of rebellion, revolution, and war.

And let’s be serious: Katniss Everdeen’s probably a Lorde fan.
