Filthy little hobbitses!

Former Flight of the Conchords funnyman Bret McKenzie has signed on to co-star in Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit, which is excellent news for geeks fans of Flight and Hobbits! McKenzie is going to play an elf of some sort. Cool.

The Hobbit finally started filming (excellent!), as you can see from this photo of Jackson on set:

Release dates for Parts 1 and 2 are December 2011 and December 2012, respectively.
